DermaPlaning
-
Dermaplaning is an exfoliating treatment that utilizes a medical grade scalpel to skim dead skin cells and hairs from the face. Sounds scary right? It really isn’t if you are in the right hands! Your skin is exposed to daily harsh environmental toxins, irritants and sun damage every day. This can cause the top layer of skin to appear dull and make you look aged. With the top layers of skin (and all the peach fuzz) removed, the skin’s surface becomes more smooth, youthful and bright.
Dermaplaning is a favorite in the entertainment industry because it eliminates the annoying peach fuzz that cakes up in makeup, creating a flawless canvas for makeup to glide on smoothly.
If you have dull skin, an abundance of fuzzy hairs on the face, dry skin, acne scars, sun damaged skin and/or fine wrinkles, dermaplaning is likely a great treatment for you. It can be done on any skin type/tone.
Dermaplaning is an amazing treatment on its own or as an add on to a professional peel or any of the PRO skin facials! We recommend to dermaplane monthly.
Extremely rough or acneic skin may not be suitable for dermaplaning.
There is no downtime after a dermaplaning treatment. You can apply makeup and return to work immediately after treatment. The vellus or fuzzy hairs will eventually grow back but will NOT come back thicker or more coarse.
LED Light Therapy
-
Red and blue light therapy have beneficial properties for our skin. Anyone who wants healthier more radiant skin should try light therapy at Dr Brenna & Three Graces Medi Spa! Red light therapy will smooth lines and wrinkles, provide an incredible radiance to the skin and decrease inflammation from dermatitis conditions like eczema, psoriasis and rosacea. If you suffer from acne, Blue light therapy can be a great “drug free” way to control acne breakouts.
Red light therapy uses red light waves from 630-660 nm and infrared light waves at 880 nm to penetrate into the layers of the skin. Just like a plant uses light energy to create food and energy for its cells, our skin cells absorb the red and infrared light and create more cellular energy (ATP) which is used to make stronger proteins (collagen and elastin leading to stronger skin), repair membranes and utilize oxygen more efficiently.
Therapeutic blue light has a wavelength of 400-490nm and has special effects on the skin for the treatment of acne. Blue light excites porphyrins, which are molecules inside bacteria that contribute to acne lesions (Propionibacterium Acnes). When the porphyrins are excited, they release reactive oxygen molecules that destroy the acne causing bacteria!
Can’t decide whether to do Blue or Red Light Therapy? Try combination therapy to experience that youthful glow.
There is no UV light emitted, the light wavelengths are not dangerous and you will not burn or tan. In fact, you will leave looking fresh and rejuvenated!

A Note about poor quality devices
Not all wavelengths of red and infrared light are optimally absorbed by the skin’s cells. The BT – Accent LED light therapy unit is FDA approved and targets a few therapeutic wavelengths so maximal absorption is accomplished. Often non-regulated devices will not contain the correct wavelength (these wavelengths can actually damage your skin) or have inadequate power and irradiance to be beneficial.
Peels
-
If you have not tried a professional peel, make an appointment today to discuss which peel is right for you.
We offer a variety of gentle yet professional peels that help brighten, refresh, tighten and illuminate the appearance of skin. Peels provide effective and controlled exfoliation that helps encourage cell turnover. Peels are a great treatment or maintenance treatment for a range of moderate skin conditions including fine lines, sun spots and pigments, oily acne prone skin, or dull lackluster complexions.
May be done as often as once per month.
Depending on the strength used, some redness may occur but most experience no downtime.
MicroLaser Peels
As we age, our skin cells begin to loose moisture and collagen production is reduced.
Peels are treatments used to exfoliate the skin, which encourages cell turn over to brighten the skin and improve texture, pores, lines, pigments and oily acne prone skin.
During a laser peel, the superficial layers of the skin are gently removed to promote regeneration of the skin, resulting in a smoother more youthful look. Laser peels can remove most fine wrinkles and significantly improve deeper, more dynamic wrinkles. The laser gently removes micron-thin layers of the epidermis (top layer of skin) while thermally affecting deeper skin layers to stimulate the production of new collagen in the dermis. With laser peels we have the ability to completely customize the treatment, by controlling the depth and region of your treatments. This results in a treatment catered specifically for your needs.
Each person is different, but during the treatment you can expect minimal to mild discomfort. Immediately following the treatment, you may experience some redness and a sun burn like sensation for a few hours, depending on your customized treatment settings. Most patients can resume their daily activities immediately. It is best to avoid direct sun for a few days following treatment and to apply sun screen at all times while outdoors.
