Thread Lift and Skin Tightening
PDO thread lift is a newer technique for North Americans (but done in Europe for years) and is growing in popularity quickly! Dr Brenna Haverluck was one of the first in Manitoba to be trained in the procedure and feels it is the best non-surgical procedure for a sagging jaw line. Dr Brenna utilizes MINT and NOVATHREAD PDO threads.
As we age our skin loses elasticity and begins to sag. MINT PDO provides a revolutionary type of facial rejuvenation without surgery. Commonly known as the thread face lift, you can dramatically lift and reposition underlying tissues and smooth overlying skin.
Selective inflammatory response or collagen induction is the principle behind a lot of aesthetic procedures such as some laser treatments and microneedling. Our skin is good at repairing itself! After inserting MINT threads, the skin does just that as new collagen forms around the thread. The thread dissolves in 4-6 months but the skin structure created holds for another 12-15 months (unfortunately we continue to age every day).
The mesh technique consists of creating a mesh under the skin with small threads (in the shape of a tic-tac-toe board). Botox or Dysport are the most popular cosmetic procedures, likely because it is quick, no down time and results are amazing. Botox and Dysport are purified proteins that relax muscles to reduce frown lines (the angry furrow), forehead wrinkles, and crows feet. As we age our skin loses elasticity, and the repeated contraction of facial muscles is what forms deep wrinkles. People who begin this treatment early enough slow the development of permanent lines.
The procedure takes 10-15 minutes. Injections are made with a very fine needle. A bruise or redness is possible, but most leave with no marks. EZPRF and EZGel
The use of blood concentrates is becoming more and more popular in medical aesthetics likely because it is 100% natural, free of additives and chemicals and packed with powerful cells for skin rejuvenation.
PRF stands for Platelet-Rich Fibrin, which is a concentrate of your own cells. PRF involves obtaining a blood sample and separating the PRF from other blood components. PRF contains platelets, white blood cells, and mesenchymal stem cells. These are growth factors involved in the healing cascade and can promote regeneration of skin.
PRF is the newest evolution of blood concentrate therapy and has many advantages over PRP (platelet-rich plasma).
